Reimbursement For Attendance At Annual NJSBA Convention The New Jersey School Boards’ (NJSBA) annual convention provides an unique source of education designed specifically for school board members and members of the school district administration. Board members and district administrators attending this convention broaden their understanding of their responsibilities, learn new trends, share information and ideas with (and receive from) other school district board members and administrators, and keep current with legal and regulatory issues affecting their school districts. The Lopatcong Board of Education encourages its members to attend this convention and sets forth the conditions listed below in authorizing such attendance. The Board Secretary will arrange for and the Board will pay for the reservation of rooms through the Convention Center. Board members and administrators will be authorized for a single room; however, they may choose to double up. Mileage will be reimbursed for board members and administrators; in addition, administrators will also receive a meal allowance only for meals actually purchased. The mileage and meal reimbursement will be at the then-current Board-approved allowances which will be revised and approved annually by Board resolution and will comply with State travel reimbursement guidelines as established by the Department of Treasury in NJOMB circular letter 06-02 (found at http://www.state.nj.us/infobank/circular/cir0602b.htm) and OMB Circular A-87 (found at http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/circular/a087/a87_2004.html). All reimbursement to board members will be paid by voucher, properly signed, stamped, and submitted to the Board Secretary to be placed on the bill list at a regular meeting. The Board advises that individual members who attend the NJSBA convention should share the information and insights they receive with the Board as a whole and/or with other board members individually.
